A U.S. Citizen Kidnapped By Al Qaeda Seeks Help From Obama

Warren Weinstein, an American working on development issues in Pakistan, where Al Qaeda kidnapped more than two years ago, asked in a video for Barack Obama to negotiate his release because he feels "totally abandoned and forgotten."
Man, 72, appears on the video shown Thursday, being the third of its kind since two broadcast in September 2012.
n the material sent to various media in Pakistan, Weinstein calls on the U.S. government to negotiate his freedom.
"So, once again, ask him to order their competent officials negotiate my freedom," he added.
The video and an accompanying letter Weinstein wrote that allegedly were sent anonymously by mail to reporters in Pakistan.
The video included the letterhead of "As-Shahab", the press unit of Al Qaeda, although it was not possible to verify its authenticity.
